Dar Science and Engineering (DS&E) offers review courses for EIT in the following areas:




1- Chemistry:

Periodic Table, General trends in the periodic table, Atomic structure, ions, compounds, chemical bonds, chemical reactions, chemical equilibrium, acids, bases, pH, solutions, and ideal gas law.




2- Material Science:

Properties (Chemical, electrical, mechanical, and physical) Corrosion mechanisms and control, engineered materials, ferrous metals, nonferrous metals, Equilibrium Phase Diagrams.




3- Fluids:

Flow measurement, Fluid properties, Fluid Static, Continuity, Energy, Impulse and momentum equations.




4- Statistics:

Measures on central tendencies and dispersions (mean, mode and standard deviation), Probability distribution, Conditional probability, Estimation, Regression and curve fitting, Expected value in decision making, Hypothesis testing.




5- Thermodynamics:

Properties of substances (enthalpy, entropy and internal energy), Thermodynamic Laws, mixtures of gases, Phase change, Heat Transfer, Combustion, and Power Cycles.

1- Environmental Engineering:

Chemistry Review, Biochemistry, Biology, Bacteriology, Water Quality, Waste Water Quality and Quantity, Waste Water Treatment, Activated Sludge and Sludge Processing, Municipal Solid waste, Pollutant in the Environment, Disposition of Hazardous Materials, and Environmental Remediation.




2- Hydrology:

Hydrologic Cycle, Storm characteristics, Precipitation, Time of concentration, Rainfall Intensity, Duration and Frequency (IDF) Curves, Surface Runoff analysis including Rational and SCS methods, Unit Hydrograph, Gauging stations including runoff frequency analysis and flow calculations, NRCS Curve Number, Reservoir Sizing, Ground Water and Well Fields.




3- Hydraulics:

Fluid Properties, Fluid static, Fluid Dynamics, Hydraulic Machines, Energy equation, Closed pipe flow equations including Hazen-Williams and Darcy-Weisbach Equations, Friction and/or minor losses, Pipe network analysis, Pump application and analysis, Cavitations, Momentum equation. Open Channel flow, Culvert design, Spillway capacity, Energy dissipation, Sub critical and supercritical flow.
