Air Quality Analysis:

The air quality analysis will address the objectives of the following Federal and State environmental statutes:

  • National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)

 



Noise Analysis:

DS&E performs noise modeling using the FHWA’s Traffic Noise Model (TNM) version 2.5 with inputs such as projected traffic volume, traffic mix, topography, and distance of the project from the receivers.

 

The traffic noise analysis will adhere to the highway noise analysis and abatement/mitigation requirements of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), as outlined in the following documents:

  • Title 23 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 772 “Procedures for Abatement of Highway Traffic Noise and Construction Noise” (23 CFR 772)
  • Caltrans Traffic Noise Analysis Protocol (August 2006)
  • Caltrans Traffic Noise Supplement (October 1998)

By fulfilling the requirements of the above, the noise analysis will address their objectives of the following Federal and State environmental statutes:

  • National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
  • Section 216 of California Streets and Highways Code.
